New and original theatrical works

I've been writing, devising, and adapting new material for over 25 years. With a background in improvisation and a lifelong love of experimental theater, developing new work with diverse teams is foundational to my process.

Pillars of creating new work:
  • Collaboration: original theater is no place for an auteur. A productive rehearsal room is one where everyone is contributing, engaged, and brings a unique perspective.
  • Experimentation: As one of my creative heroes, William Kentridge, states: "The studio must be a safe space for stupidity." If we aren't being absurd, daring, challenging, and subversive, we're doing it wrong.
  • Appreciation: Every person on a creative team brings a unique lived experience, personal expertise, and perspective on the story we're telling. New work lets us dive headfirst into, and make the most out of, the magic of the team and the moment.
