Lacy K. Campbell is a creative director, experience designer, and writer who builds story-driven environments that help people see themselves and each other as part of a bigger story. Known as a “creative arbitrator,” she brings multidisciplinary teams into alignment to craft cohesive, emotionally intelligent narratives and experiences.
With a career that spans theater, performance, and immersive design, her work is rooted in craft, cultural care, and a deep belief that strong work is made through curiosity and many possible paths, not one perfect answer. Most recently, Campbell was a creative director at TAIT (2023–2025), overseeing concept development and storytelling for major themed entertainment projects. She directed creative teams to produce emotionally impactful and technically advanced experiences that integrated narrative, technology, and design. Before joining TAIT, she worked for over two years at The Bezark Company, initially as an associate creative director and later as a creative director in creative development. During her tenure, she contributed to designing and directing attractions and immersive experiences for top entertainment and cultural clients globally. As a self-producing artist and pragmatic visionary, she excels at transforming ideas into reality by balancing creativity, teamwork, and practical considerations. Her work has been recognized by Art Party PNW, 4Culture, Seattle Arts & Culture, smART Ventures, Artist Trust, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, CityArts, The Awesome Foundation, Pivot Arts, and the Chicago Lab and Urban Retreat, with pieces featured in festivals across the U.S. and abroad. She has also performed in dozens of critically acclaimed productions, with credits spanning classical theater in a Tony Award–winning season, national ad campaigns, network television, as well as major feature films. Lacy’s leadership is informed by Quaker values and long-term service. She currently serves on the executive board of Quaker Voluntary Service and mentors emerging professionals through Immersive Design Academy, a rigorous year-long program for the next generation of location-based entertainment creators. For years, she has done long-term work with community-based arts organizations, supporting participatory projects, artist-led programming, and durable local partnerships. Past service has included board service for the Screen Actors Guild, Themed Entertainment Association, and the Quaker Cohort for Uprooting Racism. She is a frequent speaker at colleges and industry events, including IAAPA North America, SUMMIT, and SATE North America. |
