All audience members had their palms stamped with an 8-pointed star, which corresponds to The Girl's mysterious birthmark.

At the end of the play, The Girl discovers her magical powers and her birthmark begins to glow (thanks to embedded battery-operated fairy lights).

BIRTHDAY PARTY WHALE

Garbage bags, duct tape, box fan
I had four days and $50 to build a life-size whale (oh - and it needed to travel in a Honda Civic).

This goes from a pile of trash bags to a giant whale in under 20 seconds.  (the inflation process starts about 20 seconds into the video)
